My friend had a broken blue PS3 Super Slim which made a super loud noise. It turns out that when you turn it on the fan spins faster and faster and it vibrates the whole shell. It was spinning at max speed. When I got it, they hadn't used it in about a year or two so I thought that it was just dust. I brought it home and plugged it in to see

Just make sure you do it while it's off and/or unplugged and WAIT 30-45 minutes before trying to turn it back on again. I resurrected a super slim that got the YLOD in the same way.
